Torrevieja is the holiday city of the Costa Blanca south by excellence. Until 1802, Torrevieja existed only as an ancient sea guard tower, which gave the town its name (Torre Vieja means Old Tower) and some laborers’ cottages. Since, The city was originally a salt-mining and fishing village located between the mediterranean sea and two large salt lakes (Las Salinas de Torrevieja and Las Salinas de la Mata), which give Torrevieja a healthy microclimate much appreciate.
This is why the city grew up very quickly with the tourist and construction industry with the arrival of many people coming from the north of Europe looking for better Weather. Torrevieja has a big extension of land and this is why the center is surrounding with many small urbanizations with all amenities close by and have a population register of 105.000 people.

Street market day
Friday is the market day in Avenida Delfina Viudes where you can buy cloth, shoes and all kinds of fresh food at reasonable prices. Torrevieja street market is very popular and recently have moved from the town center.
The festivities are July 25th and October 12th with plenty of activities and parades. It has a lot of surrounding amenities area to enjoy typical Spanish food, a nice Sunday roast or international cuisine.

Torrevieja is close to the popular area of Orihuela Costa with The first Golf course in the area “Villamartin golf course” and “Campoamor Golf course” 10 minutes drive, In Pilar de la Horadada you have Lo Romero golf course, close to San Miguel de salinas Las Colinas golf course and 20 minutes drive la Finca golf course, La Marquesa golf course, and Vistabella golf course . Torrevieja has very good access from the beach road N332 to most important coastal towns like Guardamar del Segura, 30 minutes to Alicante airport and 10 minutes to the beach. Also, access by the Ap7 from Murcia Alicante
